On the 11th of July, 2022, Bishop David Oyedopo made a working visit to Margaret Lawrence University, Galilee, Delta State, where he was honourably received and shown around by the proprietor, Mr Paul Odili. During his visit Bishop Oyedepo emphasised that everything that borders on human development has a special place in his heart; saying that there was no way he could miss out on being at the newly licenced university, especially as its proprietor is one of his sons in the LORD.

25th June, 2022, Paulo Group visited three orphanage homes and one school for the blind, all in Abuja. The visited orphanage homes being Mother Theresa Children’s Home Gwarimpa, BEMA Homes Lugbe, and Abuja Children’s Home Karu. FCT School for the Blind Children was the fourth place visited on the day. This practice is customary with Paulo Group; done through its Foundation, Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation.

12th of May, 2022 was a great day for Margaret Lawrence University, Galilee, Delta State, as the National Universities Commission NUC, awarded the university a Provisional Licence to commence operations as a Private University in Nigeria. This was alongside eleven other private universities: Pen Resource University, Gombe; Al-Ansar University, Maiduguri, Borno State; Margaret Lawrence University Galilee, Delta State; Khalifa Isiyaku Rabiu University, Kano, Kano State; Sports University, Idumuje, Ugboko, Delta state; Bab Ahmed University, Kano, Kano State; Saisa University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Sokoto, Sokoto State; Nigerian British University, Asa, Abia State; Peter University, Achina/Onneh, Anambra State; Newgate University, Minna, Niger State, European University of Nigeria, Duboyi, Abuja, FCT and Northwest University, Sokoto, Sokoto State.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu made the presentations during the occasion, noting the need to establish more private universities in the country. The Executive Secreatary of the NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, stressed that the newly licenced universities should ensure they don’t sacrifice quality services while pursuing monetary gains.

For more than 20years now, Paulo Group, through Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation, its humanitarian/NGO wing, annually observes a thanksgiving period in which hundreds of lives in orphanages/IDPs are reached with material and spiritual blessings. This 2021, on the 28th of August, the Group, with friends and well-wishers, visited Mother Theresa Children’s Home Gwarimpa, Poorest of the Poor Orphanage Gwagwalada, BEMA Homes Lugbe, and Abuja Children’s Home Karu, all in Abuja, Nigeria. As it happens every year, the visitations are followed by a Thanksgiving Service at the Winners Chapel Branch in Jahi, Abuja.

18th of August, 2021, was remarkable for the proposed Margaret Lawrence University, Galilee, Delta State, as the National University Commission (NUC) made their second visit to the university. The visit, like the first, forms part of the process towards giving the university the certifications to commence operations as a private university. The university promoter, Mr Paul Odili, was also on ground, as the university’s technical team showed the NUC officials around the nearly readied facilities – Laboratories, classrooms, offices, students’ accommodation, library, etc., were all being equipped with high standard equipment and materials. The NUC officials admitted it will be one great university, following what they could already see.

Mr Paul Odili promised the officials that all the recommendations they made regarding some facilities will be promptly attended to, with precision. Later that day, he led the team on a courtesy visit to the Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

On the 10th of February, 2021, the National University Commission (NUC) visited the proposed Margaret Lawrence University, Galilee, Delta State, Nigeria. After a guided tour around the facilities on ground, led by the proposed university promoter, Mr Paul Odili, the NUC officials admitted that the facilities they met were already more than some universities had at their kick-off. However, they pointed out technical areas that needed to be attended to, in readying for their next visit.

This visit is part of the steps towards awarding certifications for operations to a proposed university.

This is an annual custom of Paulo Group. Following up the visits is a Thanksgiving Service in “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness”.

On the 22nd of November, 2019, the FJC President/Founder, Mr Paul Odili, and the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, were in the autonomous city of Galilee, Owerre-Olubor Road in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta for the Commissioning of a SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) Base, and a Court House.

Also commissioned were seven (7) operational vehicles for the SARS Base, and two fully furnished Quarters for the Court Magistrate and Registrar. This is coming two years after the Commissioning of a Divisional Police Station which took place on the 23rd of November 2017 within the autonomous city of Galilee.

The occasion also had in attendance, the Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Marshal Umukoro; President Customary Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice (Mrs) Stella Ogene; Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke, and other dignitaries from various parts of Nigeria.

After the Commissioning of the day, Mr. Paul Odili led the Governor and other dignitaries on a tour of the Proposed Margaret Lawrence University, showing how much development has happened there. During this time, the Governor got to lay a foundation block for the construction of the Law Faculty of the University.

24th August, 2019, Paulo Group, joined by friends and well-wishers, observed its annual custom of visiting with Orphanages. This is part of Paulo Group’s 2-Day Annual Thanksgiving Program. With the theme, “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness”, the Group annually visits Orphanages, IDPs, etc.

The program is organized by the Group’s NGO – Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation. This year, by 7:00am, the people gathered at the Group’s Head Office at River Park Abuja, and loaded four trucks to overflow, in readiness to visit ANAWIN (Poorest of the Poor) Gwagwalada, Mothertheresa Children’s Home Gwarimpa, Abuja Children’s Orphanage Home Karu, and Bema Home Lugbe. The overflow from the four trucks were given to others.

After the trucks were loaded, there was a session of singing praises and dancing, in thanksgiving to God, followed by prayer. And then, the people split into four groups, each visiting one of the selected Homes. Between the hours of 9:30am and 11:30am, the group had concluded visitations to the Homes.

25th August, 2019, the Group, also joined by the partners, and all, had a Thanksgiving Service at Living Faith Church, Jahi, Abuja.

This annual thanksgiving observance is additional to the Eye Care, Maternal and Child Health, and Education projects undertaken by Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation.

Paulo Group of Companies, with its various arms which include Paulo Homes Ltd., Paulo Ventures, Paulo Communications, etc – gathered again on the 8th of September, 2018, as is the annual custom. The 2-day programme began at 9am as the people gathered at the 54 Parakou Crescent, Wuse II Office, sang praises, prayed, and then formed four groups, each visiting one of the selected Homes.

Championed through its solely funded NGO, Fountain of Joy and Comfort Foundation, the Group does this annually, supported by partners and well-wishers. This is in addition to the Eye Care, Maternal and Child Health, and Education projects undertaken by the Foundation.

This year, the visits were to Four (4) Orphanages – ANAWIN (Poorest of the Poor) Gwagwalada, Mother Theresa Children’s Home Gwarimpa, Abuja Children’s Orphanage Home Karu and Bema Home Lugbe. The Homes were visited with truckloads of goods.

Then on the 9th of September, 2018, the Group headed to Living Faith Church, Jahi, for Thanksgiving Service. The Theme for the year is Celebrating God’s Faithfulness.
